The Wayne Valley Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Fair Lawn Cutters at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wayne Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wayne Valley gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They blew past Manchester Regional 62-37. Given Wayne Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Manchester Regional is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caden Flower continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Apicella, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Fair Lawn beat West Milford 54-43 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fair Lawn.
Wayne Valley pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Fair Lawn, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
Wayne Valley strolled past Fair Lawn in their previous meeting last Thursday by a score of 60-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
