Baseball Recap: Pomperaug Takes a Loss

Pomperaug lost against Joel Barlow on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 12-6 to the Falcons. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pomperaug saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Brocksmith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Brocksmith is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't). Alex Augustine was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Pomperaug's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Joel Barlow, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Falcons beat Pomperaug by a score of 12-6 later that day.
