The C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Jacksonville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, C.B. Aycock earned a 29-22 victory over Southern Wayne. Given C.B. Aycock's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Southern Wayne is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ricky Elliott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 232 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Elliott was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northside - Jacksonville 52-14 on the road. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Jacksonville had established a 24 point advantage.
Demon June was a one-man wrecking crew for Jacksonville as he rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. June hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. DaMari T Gantt and his 83 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Jacksonville's win.
Their wins bumped C.B. Aycock to 8-2 and Jacksonville to 8-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: C.B. Aycock has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've been even better at 221.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
