Mineral County will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Excel Christian at 7:00 PM. Excel Christian will need to watch out since Mineral County have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Mineral County faced Virginia City in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mineral County lost to Virginia City by a decisive 52-70 margin. Mineral County's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Seth Bozzi, who passed for 405 yards and 7 touchdowns. Near the top of the highlight reel was Bozzi's 74-yard TD bomb to Robert McFalls in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Excel Christian and Wells were playing football. Last Friday, Excel Christian were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 72-78 to Wells.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
