The Lincoln County Lions won against the St. Ignatius Bulldogs last Tuesday with 81 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Lincoln County claimed a resounding 81-44 win over the Bulldogs at home. Given Lincoln County's advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln County had a senior duo take command as Braden Casazza dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds and Caden Vaughn scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vaughn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tristan Butts, who scored ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Lincoln County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for St. Ignatius, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will take on the Blue Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Ignatius, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Troy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
