Kalamazoo Valley recap September 10, 2013
Beau Johnson and Anthony Mahler provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Kellogg. The longest such play in Kalamazoo Valley this season, the connection resulted in 67 yards.
Shane Loney of Olivet ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Kalamazoo Christian last week. Loney ran for 82 yards on the play and finished with 167 on the day as his team bested the Comets.
Maple Valley's dynamic duo of Johnson and Mahler proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 74 yards and Mahler had 67 yards receiving.

Loney was the most successful running back in the league this week. Wyatt Smith also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Loney was a passing and rushing force as Olivet beat Kalamazoo Christian. Loney's key target this week was Tyler Masters, who caught 6 passes for 56 yards.
Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as Maple Valley defeated Vic Haas' team.
Mahler was the best wideout in Kalamazoo Valley this week as Brian Lincoln's team bested the Panthers.
Thanks to the talents of Rob Funk and Loney, Gabe Priddy's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Funk is tops in the league in passing with 281 yards, while Loney has rushed for 216 yards this season. The Lions' Mahler leads the league in receiving yards with 67 on 1 catches.
The Eagles are in third place, while Schoolcraft is in first place.
Hackett Catholic Central scaled the state rankings by moving to 236 from 269 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Fighting Irish were able to make move up by topping Galesburg-Augusta 55-0.
