Basketball Recap: Leon Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Leon had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Aaron Pensel did his part to make it ten on Tuesday. The Leon Lions walked away with a 67-56 victory over the North Florida Christian Eagles thanks in part to Pensel, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

North Florida Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jed Dickens, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Dickens is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jace Riggan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for North Florida Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Leon will head out to take on Chiles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Leon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for North Florida Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-57 defeat against Lincoln on the 16th.
