Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Skates Past Owen with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Travelers Rest). They breezed by the Owen Warhorses to the tune of 59-15 on Friday. The Devildogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Owen still got an impressive performance from Elly Wright, who posted ten points.

Travelers Rest pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Owen, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Travelers Rest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-34 win against Polk County on the 28th. Owen will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Tuscola at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
