Klein Cain is 4-0 against the Bulldogs since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Klein Cain Hurricanes will head out on the road to challenge the Waller Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Klein Cain beat the Tigers 66-57. Given Klein Cain's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Tigers are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Klein Cain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Wotten, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wotten has scored all season. John Clark was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 17 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Waller's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell 74-63 to Klein Oak. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waller in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Klein Cain pushed their record up to 14-12 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Waller, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-26 record this season.
Klein Cain took their victory against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 77-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Klein Cain since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
