The Accelerate Christian Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Holy Cross Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Accelerate Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Accelerate Christian can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game. They snuck past Amarillo Collegiate Academy with a 38-32 victory. The victory was just what Accelerate Christian needed coming off of a 84-51 loss in their prior contest.
Accelerate Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Myers, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Myers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Leyendecker, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in December of 2023. They came out on top against Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy by a score of 51-41. That ten points margin sets a new team best for Holy Cross this season.
Accelerate Christian's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15. As for Holy Cross, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-3.
Accelerate Christian beat Holy Cross 60-52 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Accelerate Christian repeat their success, or does Holy Cross have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
