Two dominant guards in De'Shaun Tolever and Falna Ahferom are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clark Chargers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Amplus Academy Archers at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Clark's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
Clark was handed a two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Desert Shields on Thursday. Clark blew past the Desert Shields 62-35 at home.
Meanwhile, Amplus Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over Innovations International. The victory was just what Amplus Academy needed coming off of a 77-33 loss in their prior game.
Amplus Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Clark, who scored 17 points. Clark hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was DaJon McGinnes, who scored 14 points.
Clark's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Amplus Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Clark against the Archers in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 75-15 win. Does Clark have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Archers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
