With a playoff game on the line, the Shorecrest Prep Chargers rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Donahue Catholic 50-10 at home. Shorecrest Prep's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Nickolas Bearden was his usual excellent self, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Bearden has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylan Huff, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Donahue Catholic's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Shorecrest Prep's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Athanasius Niewald was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Shorecrest Prep pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.64 points. As for Donahue Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Shorecrest Prep will take on Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 18th. Master's Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Donahue Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
