Basketball Game Preview: St. Georges Tech Hawks vs. Mount Pleasant Green Knights

St. Georges Tech hasn't had much luck against Mount Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The St. Georges Tech Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mount Pleasant Green Knights at 5:15 p.m. St. Georges Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.

Last Monday, St. Georges Tech came up short against Garnet Valley and fell 74-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hawks came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in Delaware, while the Jaguars are ranked 61st in Pennsylvania).

Despite the defeat, St. Georges Tech got top-tier performance from Joshua Obiora, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Obiora is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory Womack, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, St. Georges Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-47 to Chester.

St. Georges Tech's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mount Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
