Fairmont extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 8-7. They fell 14-11 to the Beavercreek Beavers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on Wednesday.
Rylee Sier was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Maddie Devers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Perdue, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Beavercreek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.
Like Fairmont, Beavercreek also got a great game from a two-way player: Kayta Barrett. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits. Barrett has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her three at bats. That's the most hits she has posted over her last six matchups.
In other batting news, Beavercreek got a big performance out of Annessa Stamper 2026, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Stamper 2026 has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenna Beck 2027, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairmont will challenge rival Northmont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Beavercreek is set to face off against their familiar foe Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
