The Hill Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Del Mar Dons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, Hill was not quite Evergreen Valley's equal in the second half on Thursday. Hill fell to Evergreen Valley 21-15.
Meanwhile, Del Mar had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to Yerba Buena for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-0 win at home. The result was nothing new for Del Mar, who have now won four matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Andre Latimore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 217 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 23 yards and a touchdown. Latimore is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Hill's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.25 points per game. As for Del Mar, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Hill was dealt a bruising 50-8 loss at the hands of Del Mar in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Thankfully for Hill, Somto Obasi (who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
