The Alpena Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Glen Lake 57-52. The contest was a 42-42 toss-up at halftime, but Alpena was outscored by Glen Lake in the second.
Glen Lake found their leader in underclassman Jacob Plamondon, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Plamondon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benji Allen, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Alpena's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Glen Lake, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Alpena will stay at home for another game and welcome Elk Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Elk Rapids is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Glen Lake will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Harbor Springs at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Harbor Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Glen Lake is ranked 137th).
