The Huss Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 77-47 victory over West Mecklenburg at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Huss was led to victory by Satchelle Pettis and Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips. Pettis scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Phillips scored 14 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Damontia Duff, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, West Mecklenburg still got an impressive performance from Cam Higgins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Higgins also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Carmello Tate was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Huss is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for West Mecklenburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Huss will look to defend their home court on Friday against Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30 p.m. Huss has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 525 points over their last eight matches. As for West Mecklenburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Hopewell at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 games -- so hopefully West Mecklenburg likes a good challenge.
