Menlo moved up to 288 from 353 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Peninsula - Ocean. The Knights were able to make move up by topping Sequoia 56-21.
South San Francisco extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating King's Academy, 38-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Warriors.
Menlo's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Heneghan threw for 393 and four touchdowns and Connor Stastny had 112 yards receiving. On the ground Heneghan chipped in 74 yards. Will King helped Menlo's passing attack out by catching four balls for 100 yards.
Christian Pluchar made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mark Newton's team topped the Cherokee. The junior recorded two fumbles.
The Knights' Heneghan and Stastny have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Heneghan has thrown for 1791 yards this season, while Stastny has 38 catches for 667 yards. Sequoia's Mike Taylor leads the league in rushing yards with 649.
A big matchup in Peninsula - Ocean this week will be when Menlo takes on Jefferson. At the moment, the Knights are in first, while the Indians are in sixth.
Menlo led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Rob Poulos' team. Heneghan in the win.
