On Friday, Garrard County were out to avenge their 42-49 defeat to Mercer County from the last time they squared off against one another, but they had no such luck. Garrard County were given a punishing 0-49 loss at the hands of Mercer County. The state rankings had actually given Garrard County a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The loss dropped Garrard County's record to 1-3. The victory bumped Mercer County's record up to 1-3.
Next week Garrard County take on East Jessamine at 7:00 PM. As for Mercer County, they will face off against Lincoln County. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
