The Crawford County Eagles lost against the Taylor County Vikings last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Crawford County took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor County. Crawford County has struggled against Taylor County recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Crawford County still got an impressive performance from Mareo Slaton, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Slaton scored a full 45.7% of Crawford County's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tyler Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Brayden Ellison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Taylor County, scoring 27 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ellison has scored at least 25% of Taylor County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ajavian Wilder, who scored 10 points.
Crawford County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Taylor County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Crawford County will head out on the road to face off against Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Taylor County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
