Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Prep Takes a Loss

Pinecrest Prep played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Palmer Trinity Falcons and fell 96-62. The Crocs' have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Pinecrest Prep lost, don't look at Gabriel Guzman. Despite the final result, he posted 30 points. That's the most points Guzman has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Aaron Castellon, who had 12 points and three steals.

Leading Palmer Trinity to victory were Graham Yanowitch and Andres Domenech. Yanowitch went 10 of 13 on his way to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Domenech went 9 of 15 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and five boards. The contest was Domenech's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Moody, who made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points.

Pinecrest Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Palmer Trinity, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Pinecrest Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-48 victory against Archimedean on the 12th. As for Palmer Trinity, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-38 win against Monsignor Pace on the 11th.
