Buford and Chesterfield are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Buford Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Chesterfield Golden Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Chesterfield is ranked 40th).
Last Friday, Buford lost to Lewisville at home by a decisive 33-16 margin.
Meanwhile, Chesterfield put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Anson 58-28 on the road. The result was nothing new for Chesterfield, who have now won five matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Chesterfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kierra Diggs, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Diggs' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Terrahjah Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 steals.
Buford's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chesterfield, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Buford ended up a good deal behind Chesterfield when the teams last played back in January, losing 47-32.
