Campo Verde is 0-9 against Gilbert since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Campo Verde Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Gilbert Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Campo Verde focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
Campo Verde had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 51-44 victory over Desert Ridge.
Kelsey Watts was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. Another player making a difference was Kdynce Parks, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Gilbert put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 97-28 victory over Skyline. Gilbert might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 44 points or more this season.
Meisha Caserio continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 6 assists. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Aspen McClees was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Campo Verde's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Gilbert, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Campo Verde couldn't quite finish off Gilbert in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 51-49. Can Campo Verde avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
