The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Enloe Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Enloe took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southeast Raleigh, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with ten losses in a row dating back to last season, Southeast Raleigh turned things around against Hillside on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Southeast Raleigh got a great performance from Nicholas Teel as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. What's more, Teel gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Kyle Watson and Grayson Dove did most of the damage at the plate: Watson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Dove scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Watson a new career-high in hits. Yani Anwar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Southeast Raleigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillside only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Enloe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to Knightdale. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Joshua ?J.T.? Glenn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Enloe's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Southeast Raleigh, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Southeast Raleigh came up short against Enloe when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 7-3. Can Southeast Raleigh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
