Baseball Recap: Bishop Foley Wins Going Away Against Our Lady of the Lakes

Bishop Foley won the last time they faced Our Lady of the Lakes and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ventures blew past the Lakers 12-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ventures.

Mason Kanar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Bishop Foley's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Kanar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Bishop Foley got a massive performance out of Cooper Dolot, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Dolot also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Vogel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Bishop Foley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bishop Foley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Our Lady of the Lakes, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Foley will face off against Everest Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Our Lady of the Lakes, they will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
