The Brookstone Cougars entered their tilt with the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brookstone came out on top against Southwest Atlanta Christian by a score of 52-43 on Saturday.
Brookstone found their leader in underclassman Grayson Miley, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Henderson, who scored ten points.
Southwest Atlanta Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Talyn Harris, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jabari Burleson, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Brookstone's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookstone will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Strong Rock Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brookstone in Georgia (Strong Rock Christian is ranked 121st, while Brookstone is ranked 313th). As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Atlanta Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlanta Classical Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 484 points over their last six games.
