Boise hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Brave will challenge the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Boise needed a bit of extra time to put away Ridgevue. They won by a run and slipped past the Warhawks 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Brave have posted since March 25th.

Boise got a great performance from Aidric Bird as he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Bird has posted over his last five matchups.
On the hitting side, Brody Newbery and Alixon Rodriguez -Aponte did most of the damage at the plate: Newbery went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Rodriguez -Aponte got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Boise is 6-2 when Newbery posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Bo Schaaf was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain made easy work of Timberline on Friday and carried off a 10-3 win. Considering the Grizzlies have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lincoln Mathis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Javin Ellett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jeff Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Boise's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Boise suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Brave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
