Martin County relied on the efforts of Calista Scornavacca, who threw for 131 yards and four TDs while completing 92.6% of her passes, and Delaney Gribben, who picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Scornavacca racked up 139 passer rating, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
Martin County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Gribben led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, South Fork waltzed into their game last Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Chargers 25-6.
Martin County better keep an eye on Savannah Tatum. She was instrumental in South Fork's win, throwing for 127 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 92 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Alyssa Inchierchiere was in the mix as well, providing the Bulldogs with two touchdowns.
South Fork pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.4 points on average over those games. As for Martin County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.
Things could have been worse for Martin County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 19-0 loss to South Fork when the teams last played back in March. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tatum, who threw for 174 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 55 yards.
