Basketball Recap: Mclaurin Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tylon Williams and Trenton White

McLaurin has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Florence Eagles. The Tigers lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 97-37 score last time.

McLaurin's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Trenton White and Tylon Williams. White posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Williams put up 14 points. White is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Wallace, who had 11 points.

McLaurin's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for Florence, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

McLaurin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-48 victory against St. Andrew's Episcopal on the 9th. As for Florence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-64 defeat against Morton on the 13th.
