Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitewater). They blew past the Edgerton Crimson Tide 14-7 on Friday. The Whippets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024 (when they won 17-1).
Sydney Schilt was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Jennifer Gosh was a standout: she went 1-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Taiya Kolb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.
Whitewater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
