Pine Crest extended the longest winning streak in Southeastern - North this week by beating Coral Springs Charter, 41-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Pine Crest moved up to 165 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 41-0 win over the Panthers helped Jim Pletcher's team improve its standing.
Cooper Hopkins put up the best numbers through the air as Benjamin topped LaSalle. He finished with 19 completions for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Hopkins' favorite target this week was Jonathon Pavlov, who caught five passes for 69 yards.
Trevor Osceola was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 88 yards as the Panthers lost to the Panthers. Teammate Alex Gonzalez added to the ground attack by rushing for 59 yards.
Joe McChrystal provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Panthers fell to Pine Crest. He completed 12 passes for 172 yards and also ran for 34 yards. McChrystal's favorite target this week was Marill, who caught four passes for 115 yards.
Coral Springs Charter's McChrystal and Marill have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Southeastern - North in both passing and receiving yards. McChrystal has thrown for 937 yards this season, while Marill, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 22 catches for 466 yards. Pope John Paul II's DeQuan McGriff leads the league in rushing yards with 670.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Buccaneers take on the Panthers. As it stands, Benjamin is in third, while Pine Crest is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ron Ream's team takes on the Panthers. The Buccaneers have allowed 92 points this season, while Pine Crest has given up 47. Benjamin allowed 30 points last week as it beat the Royal Lions.
The Panthers took down the Panthers 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Smlth threw for 119 yards and one touchdown and ran for 44 yards in the win.
