Southeast extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 1-9. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bradenton Christian Panthers. If the Seminoles were looking for revenge after losing 6-3 to the Panthers when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Southeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Beltran, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for Bradenton Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Bradenton Christian's side, Jeremy Worley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Bradenton Christian is 2-1 when Worley allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Worley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Nate Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Southeast will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sarasota Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Bradenton Christian, they will head out to take on Manatee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
