The Overton Eagles suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Shelton 62-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Overton has scored all season.
Brock McCarter was Overton's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Alex Banzhaf took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Bombeck, who scored 18 points along with six steals. Bombeck has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ashton Simmons, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Overton has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Shelton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Overton will head out on the road to square off against Elm Creek on Friday. Elm Creek is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games. As for Shelton, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Blue Hill at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
