The Spearfish Spartans lost to the Douglas Patriots back in February of 2023, but the Spearfish Spartans didn't allow the Douglas Patriots the same satisfaction on Thursday. Spearfish walked away with a 54-42 victory over Douglas.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spearfish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylon Doren, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Seth Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Spearfish's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spearfish won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Red Cloud at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Douglas, they will head out on the road to square off against Lead-Deadwood at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
