The Columbia Christian Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Legacy Academy 86-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Irizarry, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Walker, who scored 17 points.
Columbia Christian pushed their record up to 20-9 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Legacy Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Christian on the road again on Monday and play against Riverdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Riverdale Academy is ranked 276th in Louisiana, while Columbia Christian is ranked 289th in Arkansas). As for Legacy Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Trinity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Legacy Academy likes a good challenge.
