The Sherwood Warriors waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wheaton 78-5 at home. Sherwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sherwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrianna Nnabue, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Nnabue pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubree Thompson, who scored 15 points.
Sherwood pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Wheaton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Sherwood will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kennedy at 7:15 p.m. Kennedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Sherwood is ranked 74th). Wheaton on the road again on Friday and play against Richard Montgomery on January 26th.
