Casa Roble has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pioneer Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Casa Roble knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 23 matches -- so hopefully Pioneer likes a good challenge.
Even though Rio Linda scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Casa Roble still came out on top. Casa Roble snuck past Rio Linda with a 70-65 victory. Given Casa Roble's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Rio Linda is ranked 918th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casa Roble can attribute much of their success to Preston Scott, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds, and Moses Oginni, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Oginni is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Benny Ambriz was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Pioneer, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-52 loss to Dixon on Tuesday. Pioneer has struggled against Dixon recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Casa Roble has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Pioneer, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Casa Roble was able to grind out a solid win over Pioneer when the teams last played on January 5th, winning 66-53. Will Casa Roble repeat their success, or does Pioneer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
