The Tri Titans will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Blue River Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Tri will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Tri has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season. They breezed by Cambridge City Lincoln at home to the tune of 61-24. Given Tri's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Cambridge City Lincoln is ranked 361st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tri's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenley Cornelius, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Cornelius has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Boyd, who scored 21 points.
Meanwhile, Blue River Valley came up short against Wapahani on Tuesday and fell 42-33.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Maciah Driskill, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. She scored a full 27.3% of Blue River Valley's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Charlee Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Tri's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Cambridge City Lincoln's loss dropped theirs to 1-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's contest: Tri have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 36.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Blue River Valley struggles in that department as they've only made 35.6% of theirs this season. Given Tri's sizeable advantage in that area, Blue River Valley will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Everything went Tri's way against Blue River Valley in their previous matchup back in February as Tri made off with a 42-20 win. Will Tri repeat their success, or does Blue River Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
