The Marissa/Coulterville Meteors entered their tilt with the Sparta Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Marissa/Coulterville came out on top against Sparta by a score of 41-31 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marissa/Coulterville also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzie Pierce, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Pierce scored a full 38.7% of Sparta's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ruthie Pillers was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Marissa/Coulterville's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sparta, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marissa/Coulterville will take on Dupo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dupo is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Sparta, they will be playing at home against Wesclin at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday.
