Allegheny Mountain - Southern recap Oct. 3, 2012
Zac McKnight of Ridgway ran for the longest rushing play in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this season against Brockway last week. McKnight scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 129 on the day as his team lost to the Rovers.
Mitchell Vallone and Clayton Housler provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Johnsonburg. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Cody Delhunty was the best wideout in the league this week as Ridgway fell to Brockway. Delhunty tallied two receptions for 103 yards. Josh Lineberger helped Ridgway's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
Zach Tibbins was the most productive running back in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this week. He ran for 152 yards on 21 carries as Curwensville lost to Mike Pisarchick's team. Josh Greslick also contributed to the rushing game with 64 yards on the ground.
Vallone put up the best numbers through the air as Elk County Catholic bested the Rams. He finished with a total of four completions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Vallone's favorite target this week was Housler, who caught two passes for 93 yards.
Curwensville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Golden Tide feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter McCracken has thrown for 470 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Jordan Russell has 26 catches for 418 yards. Tibbins leads the league in rushing with 660 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Golden Tide take on the Rovers. Curwensville is currently in second, while Brockway is in third.
Johnsonburg moved up to 494 from 545 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jesse Schreiber's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 25-12 win over Jesse Schreiber's team.
