Monett is 2-7 against Hollister since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Monett Cubs will be staying on the road to face off against the Hollister Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Monett, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-51 loss to Neosho. Monett has struggled against Neosho recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hollister, who are still winless after their fifth match. They were the victim of a tough 80-58 loss at the hands of McDonald County on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Monett bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hollister, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-5 record last season and are now at 0-5.
Monett ended up a good deal behind Hollister in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, losing 60-46. Can Monett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
