The Eastern Tech Mavericks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with an 83-75 victory over Chesapeake. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Eastern Tech to victory were Prabhnoor Singh and Jericho Wondeye. Singh dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Wondeye scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Matthew Foley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Eastern Tech's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Chesapeake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Eastern Tech will head out on the road to face off against Sparrows Point at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sparrows Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Eastern Tech is ranked 135th). As for Chesapeake, they will be playing at home against Pikesville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pikesville is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
