The Lake Park Lancers will take on the Stevenson Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Park is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
On Wednesday, Lake Park didn't have quite enough to beat Glenbard South and fell 2-1. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-20 in the first set.
Lake Park started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-21.
Despite the defeat, Lake Park had strong showings from Addison Norberg, who had 13 assists and seven digs, and Deven Townsend, who had nine digs and three assists.
Meanwhile, Stevenson entered their matchup against Glenbard West on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Patriots fell 2-0 to the Hilltoppers.
Stevenson was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.
Lake Park will have to keep a close watch on Lexi Randle El and Jane Tan, a pair of players who had a big impact on Stevenson's prior game. Randle El had 11 digs and two aces, while Tan had seven assists and four digs.
Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 22-12. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-24.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Lake Park has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Stevenson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
