The Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders and the Nazarene Christian Academy Lions squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders had to settle for second. They took a serious blow against the Lions, falling 52-6. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, Azle Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.
Azle Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Andy Wisniewski and A.J. Rollins. Wisniewski rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Rollins picked up 47 receiving yards.
Dominic Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nazarene Christian Academy, rushing for 162 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chandler Luedtke, who picked up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Azle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Azle Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nazarene Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Prestonwood Christian North at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Prestonwood Christian North is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
