California had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Freedom Falcons on Saturday as they made off with  a  9-1 win. Considering the Grizzlies have won six contests by more than six  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Audrey Cotton tossed a big game,   tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Alina Curiel was a standout: she scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jayda Crosby, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 California was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .448. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
California's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Freedom, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-1 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California will host Amador Valley  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last five games the Dons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Freedom, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pittsburg  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Pirates will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last.
