The Alleghany Trojans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Mountain Island Charter 27-22.
Despite the loss, Alleghany still got an impressive performance from Mack LeMasters, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Mountain Island Charter can attribute much of their success to Grayson Harvey, who threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes. Reese Johnson also helped out as he racked up 132 receiving yards.
Alleghany's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mountain Island Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Alleghany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mountain Island Charter will head out on the road to face off against Robbinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robbinsville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
