The Monarch Knights had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Palm Beach Central on Friday as Monarch made off with a 35-13 win. Considering Monarch has won eight matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Monarch was led to victory by Antonio Ward and Aj Hairston. Ward rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while Hairston threw for 301 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Samari Reed, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Monarch's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.4 points per game. As for Palm Beach Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Monarch has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Mandarin at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Mandarin: 17.8, Monarch: 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Palm Beach Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
