Centereach is 1-6 against West Islip since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Centereach Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the West Islip Lions at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Centereach focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Centereach came up short against West Islip and fell 35-27. Centereach has struggled against West Islip recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jason Zaita, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Doyle, who threw for 327 yards and two touchdowns.
West Islip's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Centereach's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
Centereach came up short against West Islip in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 35-27. Can Centereach avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
