Bountiful is 4-0 against Roy since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bountiful RedHawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Roy Royals at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Bountiful's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
Even though Clearfield scored an imposing 71 points on Wednesday, Bountiful still came out on top. Bountiful took their match against Clearfield 80-71.
Bountiful's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Smith, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds. Charlie Smith was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Roy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Woods Cross on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roy.
Bronson Belnap was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Daxton Warren, who scored 14 points.
Bountiful is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Roy, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bountiful hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 66.8 points per game. It's a different story for Roy, though, as they've been averaging only 58.5 points per game. The only thing between Bountiful and another offensive beatdown is Roy. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bountiful strolled past Roy in their previous matchup back in February of 2019 by a score of 87-68. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Roy's Justin Kirkland, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Bountiful to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
