London is 1-6 against North Union since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Raiders will face off against the Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (London has four straight victories, North Union has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, London got the win against Miami Trace by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Red Raiders have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophie Alt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Bella Peterman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Gwyn Wieber, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
London kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, North Union didn't have quite enough to beat Benjamin Logan on Wednesday and fell 10-9.
Emma McElroy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Kale Keigley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
London pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for North Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
North Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. London has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for North Union, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will London keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
London skirted past North Union 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
